Visions for Future Drives
Varied Use of Actuators / Wide Exhibition Area

Actuators and positioning elements are used to control and regulate a large number of technical processes today. Particularly in high-tech sectors such as automation and medical technology, and also in the automobile industry, there is a steady increase in demand for high precision, dynamic and system-capable miniaturised drives. Since 1988, the biennial ACTUATOR in Bremen has been regarded as the world’s leading forum for innovative product ideas based on new actuators. Next year, from 14 to 16 June 2004, the Bremen Fair and Congress Center is in the focus of the international actuator community – "9th International Conference on New Actuators" and "3rd International Exhibition on Smart Actuators and Drive Systems" present high-tech-actuators and precision drives.

Piezo motor for mass market

Small, light, noiseless, yet robust: piezo for the mass market. The piezo motor developed by Elliptec AG (length 2 cm, width 3 mm) is ideally suited for lateral and rotational positioning tasks in cramped spaces for automobiles, automation and consumer goods. Maximum propelling force about 0.5 N, minimum step width about 1 µm. To be seen at ACTUATOR 2004 from 14 to 16 June 2004 at the Bremen Fair Center.

Small Size, Big Punch and Long Reach
Specialist Congress "ACTUATOR" in Bremen Focuses on Piezo Actuators

With finger-tip precision, piezo actuators regulate the fuel injection in diesel engines and position the masks used in the production of semiconductor chips down to the last hundredth of a micrometre. And some day in the future, they may even be able to move the landing flaps of an airliner. These "electronic precision muscles" are increasingly developing great power and range of movement. Scientists at the Technical University of Munich have developed an actuator on the principle of the "inchworm motor", which, with a range of action of 300 millimetres and a force of 200 newtons, achieves many times the performance that was previously possible. This miniaturised powerhouse will be described in detail at the Bremen Fair Centre from 14 - 16 June 2004, within the scope of the "ACTUATOR 2004", one of the world’s leading specialist events on this topic.

Visions for the Drive Technology of Tomorrow
Wide-Ranging Application of Actuators / Large Exhibition Area

Actuators, also known as positioning elements, are used to control and regulate a wide variety of technical processes. Especially the high-tech sectors, such as automation and medical engineering, the computer industry and not least the automotive industry, are reporting a steadily increasing demand for these highly precise, dynamic and systems-capable miniature drives. Since 1988, the ACTUATOR event taking place every two years in Bremen has come to be regarded as a worldwide forum for innovative product ideas involving new actuators. From 14 - 16 June 2004, the Bremen Fair Center will act as the nerve centre of the international actuator scene – when the “9th International Conference on New Actuators” and “3rd International Exhibition on Smart Actuators and Drive Systems” present high-tech actuators and precision drives.
